Defended Mariupol, Azovstal and Chernobyl: 185 soldiers returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity (photo)

To spread: Ukraine and Russia conducted a new exchange of prisoners on October 2 in the framework of Istanbul arrangements. 185 Ukrainian defenders returned home from Russian captivity. Of the specified number, 183 soldiers are ordinary and sergeants, two more are officers. This was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The military forces, the National Guard and the State Border Service returned home. Of the 185 defenders also returned 20 civilian Ukrainians.

Zelensky promises them all to provide the necessary support. According to him, the military was in Mariupol, at the Azovstal plant and defended the Chernobyl NPP. Most have been captured since 2022 and now they finally returned home. From the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 7 thousand Ukrainians have been returned from Russian captivity. "We have to return everyone. We work on it every day," the President of Ukraine summed up.
