The film festival website states that films will be available only for those who are directly in the territory of the aggressor country. That is, Russians who have gone abroad will be deprived of the opportunity to enjoy European cinema. "We draw your attention to geoblocking: the film's films are possible only in the territory of the Russian Federation," the site reads.

The Russian Media TASS was quoted by the EU Ambassador Ralan Gaarag, who described the festival as an opportunity to "dive into the diversity of cultures.
