Russia has to refine the Iranian drones of Kamikadze before launch-expert

Iranian drones are not pre -adapted for winter flights, so the Russians began to use them less often. Russian engineers have to modify Kamikadze drones obtained from Iran before use in the war in Ukraine. In an interview with the UNIAN agency, Alexander Kovalenko told the UNIAN military-political observer. After the new year, Russia continued to launch Shahd drones on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

In the first days of January, the weather seemed warm, in Kiev the temperature rises to +15 degrees, and this played a hand to the occupants, since under such conditions, Iranian UAVs work more efficiently. As the expert explained, the fuel system is vulnerable to frost. "At -10 and -15 temperatures, it can only be used after the corresponding refinement has already been completed in Russia. That is, they receive the party and refine," -said Alexander Kovalenko.

He added that, in addition to the fuel system, the Russians can modify the guidance system, adding glonas support so that the drones are beaten further and more precisely. The work takes a lot of time, so in December ShahED was used less often with other intervals. Oleksandr Kovalenko confirmed that Russian troops use Shahd not only to destroy energy infrastructure, but also to exhaust the Ukrainian air defense system.

First of all, they target the echelon of the near radius of action-such complexes are best knocked down by drones-Kamikadze. When they do not cope, the echelon of the average radius is connected. Earlier, Ukrainian expert Valery Yakovenko spoke about the weaknesses of Iranian drones. According to him, Russia is trying to eliminate the shortcomings of ShahED, including the hypothermia of electronics. To do this, they could add insulation and battery heating technology.
