In a few moments, after his position has fallen mortar bombs, he put a turnstile transferred to the British, which did not allow blood to float. Now, two years later, Alexander represents Ukraine at the "Games of the Unconquered-2025" in Canada. The former soldier told how the medical set saved him his life that day. "A mortar projectile fell in front of me. It looked like a white screen before my eyes, and it seemed to me that I was flying," he said.
"I realized that my foot was not in that place, so I removed the harness to stop the bleeding. " Oleksandr was in the UK in August 2022 as part of the Interflex Operation, during which more than 60,000 Ukrainians were trained in vital infantry skills - the basics of combat and field medicine. "After the shelling, I was done more than 10 operations. Surgeons removed fragments from the neck, spine and legs. They managed to save my leg," - recalled Alexander's event of two years ago.
He added that he was glad to return to the army during the war because he used to serve at a young age. When asked how he came to Invictus Games, Alexander expressed his gratitude to his wife for inspiring this step. "I forgot how I felt before. Now I feel better every day," he said. "I saw previous games in Dusseldorf and regretted that I couldn't take part. My wife made me register. It's a wonderful place and amazing people" .
Alexander believes that the path to the victory of Ukraine lies through international support. "I hope we are at the finish direct war, [but] I have some doubts, because we really have a strong enemy with great resources. The only way we can win them is to unite with the rest of the world," he said . The Games of the Non-Root-2025 will take place in the cities of Vancouver and Wistler in the Canadian province of British Columbia.
