Mobile Internet in Russia will return to the past: he is waiting for a 3G speed era

Local operators "plug holes" with equipment for repairing already installed base stations. In 2022, telecom operators in Russia were installed 60% less than a year earlier, said The Moscow Times. Due to the departure from the Russian market, Nokia, Ericsson, and Huawei, local operators, who founded their networks on the technologies of these companies, have to repair already installed base stations, disassembling the equipment parts that have been purchased earlier.

The expansion and modernization of the mobile network is not discussed at all. Experts say that when the "Remomns" will end and it will happen quickly enough, then the Russians are waiting for a "trip to the past", that is, an era of a global slow mobile Internet. And consumption of mobile traffic in Russia is increasing year by year, especially in the pandemic times - by as much as 80%. However, the operators see the exit in the purchase of used equipment of gone companies in friendly countries.

But the reliability of the networks built on such components raises great questions from experts. Another blow to the budget of the Russian telecom operators will be the requirement from 2025 to move completely to the domestic "no" analogues "telecom-equipment, including the Yadro and Bulat systems. Supplies, according to the local Ministry of Defense, should start this year. Earlier, Focus wrote that the Russians would have problems with paying goods in bank card stores.
