The Chairman of the Republic of Karelius Arthur Parfenchikov added that there was no information about the dead, however, according to him, the number of victims increased to three. Due to the fire, he interrupted his working trip and returned to Petrozavodsk.

"Currently, the firefighters of Russia work on the site, rescuers monitor the situation with the help of quadcopters. There are no dead, there are three victims," ​​he wrote. The media noted that the fire area is about 1500 square meters. The black pillar of smoke was visible from all over the city.

According to the Viceremier of the Karelia Government on the economy of Oleg Yermolaev, the fire at the plant occurred at 9:40 am during the work at the construction site of the 4th production shop of a digital shipyard. It is now eliminated, and 17 pieces of equipment, about 50 firefighters, were involved in this. Three people were injured as a result of the fire. Two people were hospitalized, one refused.

JSC "Onega Shipyard and Suddenum Repair Plant" is located on the bank of the Onega Lake in Petrozavodsk-the capital of the Republic of Karelius.
