As a result of the shelling of the Russian invaders of Kharkiv on the night of Saturday, August 27, a historic building was injured - the Adam Piotrovsky's apartment building. This was reported by the mayor of the city Igor Terekhov. Previously, there is no information about the wounded and killed from the SES. In addition to the historic building, the Russians attacked a school in the center of Kharkiv.

In the postwar times, there was a central post office, which after the restoration of the main building on the railway station was transformed into a post office. Throughout the historic building, a number of reconstructions were carried out - part of the unique external decor was lost. After one of them in 1992 the house was handed over to the Kharkiv Bureau of Technical Inventory. The Russian army regularly fired Kharkiv and the region, destroying infrastructure and killing civilians.
