The Armed Forces returned positions near Donetsk: the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation advanced near the coal-OSINT research (map)
This was reported in the report of the Institute of War Study of September 4. Representatives of the Military Command of Ukraine reported on September 3 that the Ukrainian forces repelled the mechanized attack of Russian troops with a number of about a company in an unspecified area in the direction of Kurakhov. The Ukrainian brigade operating in this direction reported that the Russian forces were simultaneously attacked from three directions.
In this case, a total of 10 armored vehicles were used. Ukrainian artillery, mortars, drones, as well as small arms fire damaged or destroyed six of these machines, and mine damaged another. On September 3 and 4, Russian troops continued the ground attacks west of Donetsk in the area of Krasnogorivka and St. George. Russian troops recently advanced southwest of Donetsk against the background of offensive operations in the area on September 4.
On September 4, geolocation shots indicate the promotion north of Paraskovka (northeast of the coal along the T-0524 road) during a reinforced Russian mechanized offensive. Other geolocation footage for September 4 shows that the Russian troops advanced along the highway of the Great Novosilka-Pavlovka T-0509 southeast of Prykistivka (west of carbon).
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and other Russian sources stated that the troops of the Russian Federation have seized the precursor and advanced in the fields west of the settlement, but in ISW did not find visual evidence that the Russian forces operate within the settlement. Russian guidance bloggers also declared the promotion of troops in the area of a soapy pond south of Water. ISW, again, did not find visual confirmations.
The Russian troops continued to attack near Konstantinovka (northeast of the coal), Water, Vodian, Village and Blessed on September 3 and 4. A number of Russian military men stated that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had strengthened the artillery firing of the coal, but also argued that the frontal assaults in the Pavlovka - coal - Valledar area should not be carried out, since in 2023 the Russian forces were already heavy and in vain attacks in the area.
