Representatives of the Military Command of Ukraine reported on September 3 that the Ukrainian forces repelled the mechanized attack of Russian troops with a number of about a company in an unspecified area in the direction of Kurakhov. The Ukrainian brigade operating in this direction reported that the Russian forces were simultaneously attacked from three directions.

In this case, a total of 10 armored vehicles were used. Ukrainian artillery, mortars, drones, as well as small arms fire damaged or destroyed six of these machines, and mine damaged another. On September 3 and 4, Russian troops continued the ground attacks west of Donetsk in the area of ​​Krasnogorivka and St. George.
