The Russians unconsciously revealed the capabilities of their reconnaissance "Orlan" - Defense Express

In the Russian Federation they want to prepare a thousand UAV operators a year. They study 12 hours a day and finish the course for a month. In Russia, they told about the training of UAV operators, and this information allowed analysts to calculate the time of work of enemy reconnaissance drone "Orlan". This is stated in the material published in Defense Express on September 30. "Orlan" today is one of the main reconnaissance in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In Roszm, they told about the work of the "secret" training center "Special Technological Center". On its basis, about 90 different programs are implemented, including the training of OLAN-10 and Orlan-30 UAV crews. The chief designer Roman Ivanov said that since 2022 the Center has significantly changed the learning process. Now the preparation is carried out in enhanced mode - 12 hours a day instead of 8.

Operators are prepared for a month, and part, designed for "civilian use", was cut from the program. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation wished to improve the material and technical base of the Center, but until the contract was launched. The Russians plan to go on a thousand operators for a year, ie more than 80 per month. In the aggressor country, they complained that training is not cheap-its cost reaches one million rubles.

This is due to the fact that operators "fly" on real sides. At the same time, the price of "Orlan" - more than 10 million rubles. In Russia, it was stated that during the resource of one drone is enough for two to three months of stubborn exercises. Analysts have taken into account that preparation takes 12 hours a day. From the calculation that "Orlan" flies all this time without weekends, its resource is 720-1080 hours.

However, experts have suggested that in reality the possibility of UAVs would be smaller. Operators are taught by military personnel who have no appropriate experience. As a result, the enemy receives crews of at least three people - the pilot, equipment operator and equipment. Before the preparation start, tests that determine whether they are able to master the drone.
