New Occupants hybrid: Russians have installed an anti-tank 100mm gun on MT-LB

The network has a new hybrid performed by Russian invaders-a MT-LB armored personnel carrier, which has a 100mm MT-12 anti-tank gun. At least two such modified MT-LBs at the disposal of the Russian side are known, and one of them, according to some reports, is damaged, army recognition watches.

As it turned out, the design of the MT-LB made it possible to use the machine as a base for various modifications. Recently, this armored personnel carrier was spotted in the Armed Forces, which installed a Turkish Sarp Dual combat module. Now the Russians have created their own fire support on the basis of MT-LB, integrating it with an anti-tank gun. Usually, the MT-12 gun is towed with MT-LB, but here the invaders installed it on the chassis, which undoubtedly increases its mobility.

Considering that the armored vehicle has a light armor, a weight of 12 tons and an IMZ engine 238 with a capacity of 240 hp, such a hybrid can accelerate up to 60 km per hour. One of the distinctive features of MT-LB is its amphibianism. It can move reservoirs at a speed of 5-6 km per hour, but this figure refers to the basic version of the armored personnel carrier. Smooth-bore 100mm MT-12 gun is quite ancient. It has been in service with the Soviet Army since 1961.

According to the stated characteristics, the gun is capable of armor -piercing 3BM23 shells to 225 mm steel at a distance of 1000 meters. There is also a 3BK16m projectile capable of punching up to 400 mm. Thus, the hybrid machine theoretically combines mobility and acceptable fire power.
