The new Russian Turel makes it possible to remove the machine gun remotely. Such systems have been used by the Russian Investment Fund "Era" since the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the Donbass, the robotic Turel "Chapai", similar to the Ukrainian Sabilya Turel, at the exhibition of the Army-2024. The development was told by the director of the company "Techmet-18" Igor Shelkovsky in an interview with the Russian TASS agency. It is reported that "Chapay" was designed for fire from shelter.

The operator can control the Turel or several Turels through the tablet while in a safe place. The simultaneous management of four systems is possible. In addition, Turel can operate in automatic mode, without the involvement of the operator. The development has already been tested at landfills. "The model is characterized by high accuracy," said Igor Shelkovsky. Judging from the data stated on the stand, the Turel "Chapay" can destroy the equipment and UAVs flying low.

The maximum load on the support device is 25 kilograms, the battery life is up to 12 hours. The system can be adapted under the machine guns of 7. 62 mm, 12. 7 mm and automatic grenade launcher. Defense Express experts concluded that the creators of "Chapai" copied the concept and implementation of the Ukrainian robotic Turel "Saber", which has been used by Ukraine's defense forces since the ATO times. During her work, Saber received many good reviews from the fighters.

Today, the Armed Forces also integrate it into land robots. The publication noted that the Russian Turel "Chapay", as well as "saber", has remote control of wires and uses an optical and tight module. The possibility of adaptation under the machine guns of the mentioned calibers also coincides. The Russian Federation has so far presented the Chapaay exhibition version, but in the future it may launch serial production of Tureli.
