Service after 60: who can sign an Armed Forces contract and on what terms

To spread: Ukrainians aged 60+ can now sign a contract with the Armed Forces. Law No. 4467-IX came into force, and an algorithm of actions of officials on the admission to the service of citizens of this age category has already been sent to the military units and the CCC.

This means that the procedure is officially launched, and now those who can contact the Tax Code for registration of the necessary documents, wrote on Facebook the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security Roman Kostenko. Earlier, he said that the age for compulsory mobilization has not changed in Ukraine - it still remains from 25 years to 60 years. The new law is not about mobilization, but about the right for those who have experience, profession and desire to help.

In order to join the Armed Forces, citizens must first pass the Medical Medical Commission, writes TSN. The next stage is the presence of a letter from the commander of the military unit with which a person plans to sign a contract. When it comes to officers, this letter must be agreed with the General Staff of the Armed Forces. For persons 60+, the contract is concluded with a probation for up to six months. The main period of validity is a year with the possibility of extension for another year.

With regard to early termination of the contract, the law provides several cases where it can be terminated earlier if: According to Maryna Bekalo's lawyer, the procedure for concluding a contract with persons 60+ is especially no different from the general order, except for the consent from the commander of the military unit, and for the persons of the AFS. She also denied information that people over the age of 60 can force the contract.

"It is impossible to sign a contract for military service, since the service is voluntary, and such persons set a probationary period. In case of official inconsistency or not undergoing a test with such persons, a contract is broken. Therefore, to stop 60+ persons on the streets in order to force a contract. " Earlier it was reported that the first contractors "18-24" from the Armed Forces received orders. We will remind, on the front about 50% of positions are empty due to lack of people.
