Range up to 1900 km: Ukraine can get a jassm-ER rocket from Germany-expert

The German government is considering the possibility of purchasing high-precision cruise missiles in the US Air-Earth "Jassm-Er. The editor-in-chief of Defense Express Oleg Katkov assumes that this weapon can be put with F-16 fighters without restrictions on the territory of the Russian Federation. If the German authorities purchase the Jassm-ER missiles, they can be transferred to Ukraine in the future. This statement was made by military expert Oleg Katkov, reports "Espresso".

According to him, this is not the short time, since the plan to purchase these missiles can take years. JASSM-ER was designed for tactical aviation aircraft. In the case of Germany, these missiles are related to the supply of F-35 aircraft by the United States, which can last for decades.

"Probably, in 2027-2028, a certain number of aircraft will already be in a capable state," the expert said, he added that such missiles are needed by Ukraine as they belong to the same class as Storm Shadow/Scalp and Taurus. Ideally, Jassm-Er can be put from the F-16 without restrictions on their use in Russian territory. But the difficulty is that the Pentagon did not approve the budget under them.

These missiles are in service in some EU countries, in particular in Poland, there are about 40 of them, but without the support of Washington Ukraine is unlikely to receive them in the right amount. AGM-158B JASSM-ER can deliver a warhead weighing 450 kg for a distance of 925 km. The AGM-158B-2 variant with a greater range with a warhead weighing 907 kg, the radius of action 1931 km. German Air Force plans to order 75 winged Jassm-ER missiles together with F-35 fighters.
