According to restrictions, Switzerland now prohibits the sale, supply, export and transit of components used for UAV production. Switzerland has joined the sanctions of the European Union against Iran. The Federal Council made such a decision in response to the use of Iranian drones in the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The press service of the Government of Switzerland announced this on September 29.

"Given the continued military support of Iran's military aggression against Ukraine, which is contrary to international law, as well as the fact that Russia uses unmanned aircraft (UAV) of Iranian production to support military aggression, the Federal Council decided to impose additional sanctions against September 29 Iran Islamic Republic, "the message reads.

According to restrictions, Switzerland now prohibits the sale, supply, export and transit of components used for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In addition, targeted financial and tourist sanctions against individuals and legal entities related to the support of the Iranian UAV program. The Government's press service noted that Switzerland has accepted the EU sanctions for the supply of Iranian drones to Russia from the fall of 2022, and last August 16.

This was done within the framework of a resolution on measures in connection with the situation in Ukraine. We will remind, on September 29 it was reported that Britain has imposed new sanctions against the Russian Federation for "elections" in the occupied territories of Ukraine. New British sanctions apply to officials involved in last year's fictitious referendums organized to legitimize attempts to annex the territory of Ukraine.
