2025 can bring peace in Ukraine, or Europe will be covered by war - Turkish Foreign Ministry

According to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the Black Sea is "increasingly turning into a military zone" and there is a risk of expanding the conflict to the Balkans, Eastern and Central Europe. In Turkey, it is hoped that 2025 will bring peace to Ukraine. This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, CNN Turk reports. Fidan stressed that Turkey sees no sufficient reason to resolve the crisis in the current 2024.

"We are, first and foremost, in the position of peace as members of NATO and in the context of European relations. This conflict should be stopped now. Our president is actively calling for peace, showing leadership qualities," Fidan stressed. He also noted that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has grown into a confrontation that brings suffering to both parties. At the same time, he said, there is a danger of spreading conflict to new territories.

The Turkish diplomat noted that the Black Sea is "increasingly turning into a military zone" and there is a risk of expanding the conflict into the Balkans, Eastern Europe and Central Europe. "It is an extremely dangerous phenomenon that should be more a concern among Europeans than among us. It is also a question that we do not yet understand, but we are gradually aware of its importance, especially among European politicians. I hope they find decisions.

There is no reason to expect significant changes in 2024 in 2024. Therefore, an indication of 2025 was approved. Why in 2025? If we talk about 2023, it would probably be postponed to 2024. We will see how the situation will be developed , what circumstances will be, where the dialectic of this topic goes. In the near future, we do not see obvious changes in the near future, "Fidan said.

We will remind, in early March, Turkish and American officials held negotiations on war in Ukraine and Gas, as well as various bilateral issues during meetings in Washington, Turkish Foreign Minister Khakan Fidan said on Friday. Also we will remind, on March 8, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, announced a peaceful event to which Russia can attract.
