"By the end of the year, it is planned to form two general military armies and 30 units, including 14 divisions and 16 brigades," said the head of the defense department of the aggressor country. Shoigu also noted that the Army Corps, the Motorial Division, the Dnieper River Fleet and the Brigade of River Boats of the Fleet have already been established.

According to him, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will continue to improve the combat and numerical readiness of the Russian army in accordance with "threats that arise" for national security. Earlier, on February 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the reproduction of Leningrad and Moscow military districts.

According to ISW analysts, the Russian President's statement about the need to create a Leningrad military district after Finland's accession to NATO signaled the Kremlin's willingness to resist NATO.
