The security service said that intelligence information was needed to prepare a new series of air attacks in the region. Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained in Chernihiv region an informant of the special services of the Russian Federation, which collected intelligence on Ukrainian troops and critical infrastructure in the border areas of the region. This was reported in the SBU.

According to law enforcement officers, the enemy was primarily interested in information about the location of checkpoints, the number of personnel, the availability of military equipment of the Armed Forces and the construction of military aviation objects in the region. "Also, the attacker" drew "for the aggressor scheme of local railroad routes that run freight echelons," the message reads.

In addition, the person involved, on the task of hostile special services, collected information about the objects of energy infrastructure of the regional center. It is known that intelligence information was needed to prepare a new series of air attacks in the region. SBU staff documented the criminal acts of the attacker and detained him at the place of residence. During the search, the detainee found a mobile phone that he used to communicate with the aggressor.

According to the investigation, the enemy informant is a local resident who, during the occupation of part of the region, got into the field of view of the invaders through his pro -Kremlin views. In May this year, a spokesman of the Russian special services was released to the man and offered him cooperation in the war against Ukraine. Subsequently, the Russian informant began to fulfill hostile tasks, as "reported" the aggressor in an anonymous chat.

To hide criminal activity, he immediately deleted all the messages after each "session" of communication with the occupiers. "However, this did not help-the SBU staff gathered a substantiated evidence base and informed him of the suspicion under Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination Armed Forces) ", - added to the SBU. He is now in custody. The attacker faces up to 12 years in prison.
