Once again: the Russian Federation has blocked the "grain initiative" - the Ministry of Development

90 vessels are expected in Turkish territorial waters. The Russian Federation states that the courts will only give the "green light" if sanctions for the sale of Russian mineral fertilizers are lined. Russia has blocked the registration and conduct of inspections of ships that are part of the Black Sea and participate in the Grain Agreement. This was reported in the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine on Monday, May 8.

"The Russian Federation has again stopped the" grain initiative ", refusing to register the vessels for entry and carry out their inspections. This approach is completely contrary to the conditions of the current agreement," - said in the official message of the profile ministry. The Ministry of Development said that as of May 8, 90 vessels are waiting for inspection in Turkish territorial waters. Of these, 62 vessels that go to Ukrainian ports to load grain.

In turn, Russia declares that it will not continue the "grain agreement" after May 18 and breaks the document signed last year by the participating countries in Turkey. Official Moscow requires the cancellation of sanctions for export of Russian grain and fertilizers. In addition, the Turkish side is hopeful that the participating countries will understand the drying, which are in the Black Sea, will receive "green light" for grain loading and departure to the ports of destination.

"I hope to continue the grain agreement, there is a chance of this. In this direction, the necessary efforts are being made," said the official representative of Turkish President Ibrahim Kalin on Sunday, May 7. We will remind, on May 3 in Turkey the details of grain negotiations with the participation of Ukraine and the Russian Federation were announced.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense stressed that official Ankara is interested in continuing the grain agreement, which is important not only to support the countries that need it but also for the regional world. It should be noted that on April 25, Russia accused Ukraine of an attack on the bases of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol and threatened with the non -regeneration of the "grain agreement".
