Adapt and survive: how to fight the drones despite the dense remedies of the HR - an expert

To spread: the use of drones in Ukraine has increased with an unprecedented rate, but accordingly the scale of the use of radio electronic struggle, which closed the battlefield, increased. Western expert explained how to find Ukrainians to find unmanned systems that are cheap, reliable and easily replaced. Radio electronic struggle has become one of the most important tools in the modern war with the use of drones in Ukraine.

Despite the fact that modern ITs disrupt work or disable most GPS drones, new navigation technologies are beginning to question this advantage. This is stated in the material of Defense Blog. According to a leading expert on the fight against unmanned aerial vehicles AViva Bar Zahar, alternative methods of combating the HRS are already being tested.

"Fiber-fiber drones already operate at a distance of 20 km and showed work up to 100 km on platforms vertical take-off and planting; drone based on Wi-Fi requires other muffling methods; He explained. The expert noted that the remedies will not disappear, expected that drones, equipped with such systems, will appear in greater quantities until "they do not balance the equation. " On the front line in Ukraine, the use of drones has increased with an unprecedented pace, the expert said.

Ukrainian units continue to demand systems that are cheap, reliable and easily replaced. Bar Zohar stressed that autonomy has not yet reached the level when the soldiers are ready to trust it completely. "From many interviews with fighters and commanders in Ukraine, it is clear that operators prefer quantity and reliability. They want 300 proven FPV - strong, accurate and completely reliable - not several autonomous systems that are not yet mature.

The expert is convinced that autonomy will eventually be implemented, but only when operators will know exactly what one autonomous drone or synchronized swarm. He also emphasizes that future systems should provide significant human control, the possibility of interruption of missions and responsibility after action. "As the US defensive policy clearly shows, drones will be costly - like rifle balls. There will be no expectations for their preservation.

I expect that there will be soldiers specializing in drones in each branch, with large reserves to fulfill several missions," he said. According to the expert, competitions between the systems of HRs are now ongoing, which create obstacles and destroy work and innovations of drones that seek to adapt and survive. It should be reminded that earlier it was reported that Russia may soon start using a new type of drones, with which standard Ukrainian remedies are not able to fight.
