The Russian Armed Forces lost up to 10,000 soldiers near Dobropillia and there are two "cauldrons": Economist on the battles in the east
The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are holding the line of defense in Kostyantynivka, have withdrawn somewhat, as they are now watching the Russian military in a bunker that used to belong to the Ukrainians, according to the article of The Economist. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Arsen "Lemko" Dimytryk from the 1st Corps of the National Guard stated that the Russians lost 10,000 men near Dobropilly. In addition, two encirclement zones were formed, from which enemies cannot get out.
Dimitryk told the media about the massive mechanized assaults of the Russian Armed Forces and the destruction of about 50 Russian armored vehicles. According to him, at first there were about a hundred enemy soldiers at the breakthrough point near Dobropilly, and now there are "less than a hundred". "They were trapped in two 'rings'. [Dimitryk] does not expect the Russians to hold out much longer," the journalists quoted the commander as saying.
Under Kostyantynivka, the media communicated with the crew of drones, "Timon", "Gypsy" and "Picasso", which launched Vampire drones at enemy positions. It turned out that after completing the task, they rush back at a speed of 120 km/h to avoid being hit by the Russian Air Force. At the same time, artillery is operating on the front line, the roads are covered with anti-drone nets, no people are visible, and the fighters are accompanied by the barking of dogs.
Based on the explanations of the military, the article explains that the Russians are trying to occupy Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka, but they are not succeeding. At the same time, Druzhkivka and the road to Izyum are already under threat, the article states. Units of the Russian Armed Forces are stuck between Pokrovsk and Druzhkivka, and further progress will be difficult, as leaves have fallen and soldiers will not be able to hide and move forward.
According to the commander of the drone crew of the 44th mechanized brigade, Major Vyacheslav Shutenko, Kostyantynivka "will not fall" in the near future, but the Russians still came "much closer". "Given that the autumn leaves are falling, exposing both sides of the shelter, it is clear that the Russians have failed. But they pushed back the Ukrainians on both fronts, albeit with huge losses.
On the military front of the war, the bloody push continues along the entire front line," the media wrote. In the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, published on the morning of October 20, it is indicated that the Kostyantynivsky and Pokrovsky directions (as well as Oleksandrivsky) are the hottest points of the front.
According to the data of the command, during the past day, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation conducted 54 assaults on Pokrovsk and 24 on Kostiantynivka. Note that on October 14, Focus found out the details of the situation in Donbas and the battles near Pokrovsk. Analysts explained that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are trying to cut a key artery - the E-50 road, which the Armed Forces use to receive ammunition and transport the wounded.
