"It is unacceptable": in Bulgaria reacted to the announcement of Christ Grozev in Russian wanted

The Bulgarian politician Galab Donev accused Russia of encroaching on freedom of speech and intimidation of the journalist. Acting Prime Minister of Bulgaria Galab Donev stated that the announcement of the leading Bellingcat investigative journalist group Christ Grozev by the Russian Federation is unacceptable. He announced this at a government meeting on December 29, CNN writes. According to Donev, the Kremlin did not inform the Bulgarian side about the accusations against Grozev.

He also stated that he intended to protest against the warrant. "This act is unacceptable to us, it is an encroachment on freedom of speech and an attempt to intimidate a citizen of Bulgaria," the politician said. Galab Donev reported that Mrs. Eleanor Mitrofanov was summoned to obtain explanations in Bulgaria Foreign Ministry. After talking to the ministry, Mitrofanov told the media representatives that she had no information about this situation.

The diplomat also added that the journalist is only searched in the territory of the Russian Federation. "Ambassador of Russia says that I do not know why I am on the wanted one, but" we will not chase after him all over the world, which simply means that we tell him again that he is not needed here. "So . . . they "want" me to tell me that they "don't want" me? " - Mitrofan's words commented on his Twitter page.

The incident was reacted in the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bulgaria, stating that the violation of Russian laws leads to the appropriate consequences, regardless of the activity and citizenship of the suspect. "It is not about the intimidation of the journalist or some threat to his life," the embassy assures.
