Increasing air defense and defense capabilities of Ukraine: what Zelensky and Trump spoke about (video)

To spread: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has held negotiations with President Donald Trump for the second time in the last days, devoted to enhancing the country's defense capability and supporting the Ukrainian air defense system. The main focus during the conversation was on the supply of Patriot systems, other defense complexes and increasing the range of actions of the Ukrainian units.

According to Zelensky's appeal to Ukrainians, negotiations with Trump covered a detailed coordination of measures to strengthen Ukraine's ability to resist Russian aggression. The President noted that Ukraine is actively working on all areas, including air defense, defense systems, energy and gas security. Zelensky emphasized that Russia is afraid of the possible supply of "tomatov" of the United States to Ukraine, and this is what creates the necessary diplomatic pressure to achieve peace.

During the negotiations, specific steps were identified that Ukrainian military and other state structures would perform. According to Zelensky, it is not only about defense issues, but also about ensuring energy stability and maintaining the critical infrastructure of the country. The President also said that in the framework of international coordination, negotiations with France are underway.

The main issues there are intensification of air defense, Ukraine's sustainability and preparation of diplomatic events in the coming weeks. The Ukrainian military pass on the French side of primary needs, and supply is accelerated to provide prompt support. Separately, Zelensky touched the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP, which has been on diesel generators for almost three weeks.

He stressed that Ukrainian experts are able to guarantee the security of the station, and Russia should stop shelling so that repair crews can work. The President stressed that Ukrainian control is a key factor in the security of the nuclear power plant. Zelensky also thanked the Ukrainian military for successful counter -offensive actions in the Zaporozhye direction and in the districts of Dobropillya, noting that the Ukrainian units had advanced more than three kilometers.

He noted the professionalism and heroism of energy and repair crews who work in difficult conditions of shelling, ensuring the life of the country and the restoration of infrastructure. Earlier on October 11, Zelensky congratulated Trump on the successes in the Middle East and discussed ways to strengthen the Ukrainian air defense.
