All through gas: Hague will ask the EU to remove sanctions from Russia - Reuters

The publication writes that Hague is only one of the cities of the Netherlands, which has a contract with the Russian "Gazprop". The municipality requires deferral of sanctions. Hague is going to ask the European Union to temporarily lift sanctions from the Russian Federation because the city could not find a new gas supplier. Reuters writes about it. The material said that the Hague municipality has signed a long -term contract with the Russian company Gazprom for gas supply.

However, the sanctions conducted by the European Union are ordered to the governments and other state bodies to terminate the contracts signed with Russian companies by October 10. It is reported that in June and July the Hague conducted a pan -European tender, but the municipality could not find a potential gas supplier. The publication says that the Hague will ask for an exception for the current agreement with the Russian Federation by January 1, 2023.

"To guarantee safety of supply and facilitate negotiations," the address reads. According to a member of the Municipal Council of Hague Saskia Bryuin, the deferral will be given because the city has fulfilled the condition of the tender, albeit without a positive result. However, another contract must come into force on January 1. The material states that Hague is not the only municipality of the Netherlands that has contracts with Russian Gazprom.

But this city was the first to stated that it wants to defer from the action of sanctions. Earlier, Focus wrote that in the European Parliament approved a ban on issuing a visa to tourists from the Russian Federation. Responsible for the bloody war cannot be entertained, the German MP Manfred Weber is convinced. The politician hardly imagines the refugees from Ukraine serve the tables of Russian tourists. We also reported that EU sanctions have stopped exports of Russian coal by sea.
