To spread: the Russian atomic submarine K-329

The secrets of K-329 "Belgorod": why the Russian submarine was called double-purpose platform

To spread: the Russian atomic submarine K-329 "Belgorod" remains one of the most mysterious and at the same time the most technologically saturated submarine in the Navy of Russia. Its key feature is the combination of two missions: strategic nuclear restraint with the help of Poseidon torpedo and special deep -sea operations. The unique capabilities of the submarine are referred to in Kaleb Larson for 19Fotyfive.

K-329 "Belgorod" was built on the basis of the 949A "Anttete", but was processed by the project 09852. The main difference is an increase in length up to 184 meters, which makes the boat the longest in the world. This made it possible to adapt the housing to the installation of special compartments and fasteners for autonomous submarines and mini-submarine.

The submarine is capable of performing tasks in the interests of the Main Directorate of Deepest Research of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (Hugi). This department is responsible for underwater intelligence, great depths, including interference with cable infrastructure, installation of sensors and searching for objects on the seabed.

On board the APL can be based on deep-water devices, including atomic mini-submarine of the project 10831 "Lasharyk", as well as deserted autonomous devices for working at extreme depths. Thus, "Belgorod" can simultaneously act as a carrier of strategic weapons and as a scientific-intelligence platform.

This creates uncertainty for a potential enemy - he does not know what kind of task the submarine is performed by: it is a combat duty with nuclear torpedoes or participates in an underwater operation in the interests of intelligence. Belgorod's main weapons - unmanned submarine devices with a nuclear warhead and nuclear power supply known as Poseidon. These torpedoes are autonomous strategic delivery means - their length is estimated at 20 meters and the diameter is about 2 meters.

The torpedo is allegedly capable of developing a speed of more than 100 km/h underwater and dive to a depth of 1000 meters, which makes it extremely difficult to intercept. Poseidon Torpeda is designed to defeat coastal infrastructure, ports, Navy bases and even whole coastal cities. Their predictable goal is not only physical destruction, but also the creation of radiation pollution capable of making coastal areas unsuitable for life.
