Artillery for Ukraine: The Armed Forces will additionally receive LRU missile systems from France

The first four systems were provided to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2022. There will now be six installations in the Armed Forces. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive additional two jet systems of volley fire (RSSV) M270 LRU. France will be provided by the technique as part of the Artillery for Ukraine program. This was reported on January 25 by "Militar" with reference to the French Defense Ministry.

The Lance-Roquettes Unitaire system or abbreviated LRU is a variant of the American M270 MLRS HIMARS on a tracked platform. The systems have been modernized. In particular, they were equipped with an updated EFCS fire control system, new communication systems and GPS navigation systems. Like the American Himars, French RSSUs can fire high -precision jet shells of the GMLRS family with a range of up to 80 km.

Viewers write that during 2011-2014, 13 of the 57 LRU was upgraded and the rest of the improvement was not gone and sent for saving. The first French RSSUs were provided to Ukraine in the fall of 2022. Then the Armed Forces received four such machines. In view of this supply, six LRU will be in service with the Ukrainian forces. Earlier it was reported that the installation of a volley fire was noticed on the front, which was installed for passenger transport.
