Trump is changing the approach to war in Ukraine: why did the US President's tactics work

Trump has to start with a pure sheet its campaign since the end of the war in Ukraine, writes political analyst Andriy Miselyuk. His quick diplomacy did not work - and now he has to step back and act in a completely different way. Trump rethinks his approach to the war in Ukraine because both directions of his high-speed fast-diplomatia to complete the "hot" phase of war in our country did not work: from the very beginning, both of these directions were realized by Trump in turn, then in parallel.

This is due to the fact that the US President himself did not have a clear vision of how to move to the goal to end the war in Ukraine. Therefore, after the owner of the White House ran his first stood, he decided to walk near the treadmill and understand where and how to move on peace in Ukraine.

After all, no one confuses him like Forrest Hampa in the movie of the same name, calls "Run, Donald, Run!" It is not necessary to expect public recognition by Donald Trump mistakes - your own and your team. Working on errors goes in closed mode. One of its manifestations is the statement of US State Department Temmy Bruce that the United States will no longer be intermediaries in the settlement of an armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

From now on, the initiative should go directly to Moscow and Kiev. And already the results of this work on mistakes can be seen this month at the specific peacekeeping efforts of the American leader. It is now important to understand - what the results have finished after 100 days of his peacekeeping efforts, Donald Trump and what he has real opportunities to correct mistakes in his approach to war in Ukraine.

According to Stephen Sestanovich, a senior researcher of the American Council for International Relations, now Trump should think about his own responsibility for a dead end in the settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine. Instead of blaming Zelensky, Putin, Baiden. Although, if Trump listened to Zelensky and Putin carefully over the last three months, he would have realized that he had a chance for a comprehensive agreement that both parties could accept and provide a long peace.

"The fact that the complete settlement of the war is unattainable, it means that Trump and its winners should work within the obvious next alternative: termination of hostilities, which rejects the basic unresolved issues to some open" peace process "(in which they may never be solved)," Sestanovich states. I agree with him. And the first urgent task that needs to be solved here is to force the Russian president to agree to the ceasefire in Ukraine.

Use of capital letters and exclamation marks in Vladimir, STOP! The Kremlin owner, of course, is clickable. But, it seems, with the help of, in particular, constant explanations from the British and French leaders of the old man and Macron, finally realized: only coercion and pressure are able to force Putin to stop. This pressure should not be in verbal threats to the possibility of imposing sanctions, but in practical and very painful for the Russian president and riddles actions.

And even more so, it is not a "pressure" in the form of generous advances such as Trump's statements to exclude the issue of Ukraine's accession to NATO from the agenda or the intention of the United States to consider the recognition of the Russian occupation of Crimea. It was by such advances that Trump himself destroyed his efforts to persuade the Kremlin's owner to end the fighting. Now he will have to play back and start a new round with a blank sheet and coercion tools.
