Perfectly beat Russian tanks: Australia presented 11-ton work with atlas gun (video)

The new robotic BMP is equipped with an automated Vantage Turel, so it is not only effective against light armored equipment. At the Land Forces 2024 exhibition in Melbourne, Bae Systems Australia has introduced its new development - a modular unmanned robotic platform called Autonomous Tactical Light Armor System (Atlas) in the version of Collabo. This machine is positioned as a "combat driven" by analogy with unmanned aerial vehicles that accompany man -made fighters.

The development is focused on the use in the Future Field Field. About it reports Defense Express. According to BAE Systems representatives, Atlas CCV is intended to be a valuable complement to existing manned platforms such as infantry tanks and fighting machines. However, it has an important advantage - reducing operating costs. According to The War Zone, another key factor is that it requires less staff to service these machines.

The car was first developed with an emphasis on autonomous operations, and this applies not only to the ability of the robotic BMP to go through obstacles and to lay the route. She is also able to make tactical decisions on her own, which brings it to a new level of combat efficiency. To provide autonomous capabilities into the machine integrated a complex of various sensors that provide high situational awareness.

In addition, there is a reliable connection with other platforms, both unmanned and piloted, which actually brings the implementation of the concept of "swarm", but on ground operations. In this case, the fire remains behind the operator, thanks to the type of "man in the loop". The machine can independently recognize the goals and fulfill other tasks, but the final decision to defeat the goal will always make a person.

As for weapons, ATLAS has a modular design, which allows it to be equipped with various types of weapons, including 120mm mortar. In the exhibition, the robotic BMP was equipped with an automated Vantage Turel, which adds flexibility in the choice of the enemy destruction means.

The 25mm M242 Bushmaster gun, according to the publication, is the optimal choice, since it effectively copes not only with light-hearted equipment, but also with tanks that clearly confirm the actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Its double ammunition supply system allows you to switch quickly between different types of shells, and the total ammunition is 260 shots. The weight of the machine with a wheel formula 8x8 is 11 tons. It is created on the basis of Supacat HMT.
