Are afraid to die and captivity: Ukrainians replied why they do not want to mobilize to the Armed Forces

According to the results of the poll, every tenth Ukrainian is indifferent to the war, and another 3% do not believe in the victory of Ukraine. However, most people are frightened by death, disability and captivity. Most Ukrainians do not want to mobilize to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine because of the fear of dying, receiving disabilities or capturing. Much of the citizens do not mobilize because they consider the process of conscription to the army unfair.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the sociological group "Rating" from February 17 to February 21, 2024. In particular, 42% of respondents responded that the main reason why people do not want to mobilize to the Armed Forces are "the fear of death, disability, captivity, uncertainty. " 22% of Ukrainians believe that mobilization is in an unfair way.

The same number of respondents is convinced that the main reason for evasion of conscription is the lack of equipment, ammunition and failures in the Ukrainian army. The top five answers are "distrust of power" (18%) and "corruption in government or power" (17%). Another 16% of Ukrainians do not consider it necessary to mobilize because of insufficient material and social support from the state.

At the same time, every tenth Ukrainian (10% of respondents) stated that mobilization hinders indifference to war, and another 3% do not believe in the victory of Ukraine, so they do not enter the Armed Forces (this is the least widespread answer among the surveyed citizens.
