Military Accounting Abroad: How to Update Data in the Tax Code and get consular services (video)

MPs have taken into account the risk of losing Ukrainians who, because of problems with the CCC, will not receive a passport and want to become citizens of another country. Therefore, they have created a tool that will allow you to remove all the necessary personal data remotely. The government has created a special application that will help citizens who are abroad during mobilization in Ukraine.

Thanks to this application, they will update military accounting data and will be able to issue, for example, a foreign passport or obtain other consular services. The People's Deputy, a member of the Committee on National Security and Defense of the Verkhovna Rada Fedir Venislavsky in an interview with the NV portal, told about how the application will work.

MPs made a decision, taking into account that the Ukrainians found themselves abroad and lost the opportunity to update military accounting data, Venislavsky explained. Politicians took into account the "risks" through which Ukraine could lose citizens. Therefore, a special tool was created - an application with an electronic office of a military service that will work "for next week".

Military accounting abroad is an instruction for Ukrainians: according to the People's Deputy, citizens who do not have military accounting documents will be able to use the application. Having received a QR code, a citizen can go to diplomatic missions of Ukraine and receive the necessary consular services.

"Those citizens of Ukraine who do not have military accounting documents while living abroad, they, through the electronic office by updating their personal data, will be able to obtain a generated QR code. The code will be evidence that the citizen fulfilled the requirements of the law and will be able to receive appropriate consular services abroad, "the politician said.

According to the requirements of the law on strengthening of mobilization, men of conscript age, as well as conscripted women, starting from May 18, should update data in the CCC. The transitional provisions of the normative legal act indicate that 60 days, which expired in mid-July 2024, were set aside.

A member of the National Security Committee also voiced what personal data should be provided abroad: Venislavsky also stressed that the statements about "forced return to Ukraine" fugitive citizens is a "hype", which artificially created hostile information resources. And it was this excitement that forced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to respond to the emergence of queues under consulates.

It should be noted that in April, the media reported that during the mobilization in Ukraine citizens abroad were lined up in big queues to obtain foreign passports, to apply for an ID card, to receive consular services. The Foreign Ministry stated that they suspended the provision of such services in anticipation of the Law on Changes in Military Accounting.
