Hourly blackouts after shelling on October 30: the Ministry of Energy made a statement

Share: On the night of October 30, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation again fired missiles and drones at energy infrastructure facilities in several regions, which led to the blackout of consumers in a number of regions and emergency shutdowns. Hourly power outages have been canceled throughout Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy reported. At the same time, there is a possibility of their return during the day.

Subscribers are asked to follow updates on the official pages of local regional energy companies. In some regions, capacity limitation schedules for industrial consumers are in effect until 19. 00. Consumers were urged to use electricity rationally throughout the day, especially during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening, to reduce the load on the system. Regarding the situation at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the water level in the cooling pond is 13. 17 meters.

This is enough to meet the needs of the station. Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to purposefully strike Ukraine's energy facilities. Power plants, gas storage facilities, compressor stations and substations are under attack. More than 200 missile and drone attacks have been recorded on DTEK enterprises alone, of which 54 were on one power plant. One of the Naftogaz facilities was destroyed by six rocket strikes.

Ukrainian energy experts estimate that 55 to 60% of the country's gas infrastructure has been damaged. In the event of a large-scale failure of the energy system, Ukraine may be threatened with collapse. According to NATO forecasts, Russian attacks on critical Ukrainian energy facilities will continue throughout the heating season.
