His logic: Budanov explained why China is afraid of the loss of the Russian Federation, but supports Ukraine

According to the head of GUR, for Beijing the perfect end of the Russian-Ukrainian war would be an invisible loss of the Russian Federation and at the same time preserving Ukraine with its sovereignty. The head of the GUR MO Kirill Budanov explained China's position on the full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. According to the head of Ukrainian intelligence, Beijing is not the European perception of the world, and therefore his logic was not always understood by Ukrainians.

Budanov said this in an interview with Natalia Moseychuk. The head of GUR believes that Beijing is afraid to stay in a big "strategic game" face to face with opponents of Russia. At the same time supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Therefore, China needs a configuration in which Russia does not lose openly, but Ukraine will retain its sovereignty. "They need such a configuration in which Russia does not feel an open losing, so as not to stay alone with its problems.

Well, it is desirable that Ukraine will return its sovereignty. But, I emphasize. , - said Budanov. We will remind, China has long maintained neutrality on a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. Beijing still uses the term "crisis" when it comes to the Russian-Ukrainian war. In February 2023, at the Munich Conference, China presented the so -called "formula of peace". Kyiv and the Allies did not support Beijing's proposal.

The main difference was that the plan did not provide for the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine. As a result, China joined Vladimir Zelensky's "Peace Formula" summit, which was held in the summer in Saudi Arabia. Despite the indirect support of peaceful settlement of war, Chinese companies, according to media, can supply Russia's dual -use goods that the Russian Federation attracts in the war against Ukraine.
