They play with Russia: Turkish membership in NATO must be asked - Trump's exponent

China, Iran and North Korea will take advantage of the weakness of the West, if they are not firm from the Russian Federation, according to the former national security assistant of the 45th President of the United States John Bolton. Moscow and Ankara are still retaining trade and military relations. Turkish membership in NATO should be asked in 2023 because of Ankara's unwillingness to take a harder position on Moscow than the war in Ukraine.

The former national security assistant of the 45th US President Donald Trump John Bolton wrote this in the article for the British newspaper The Telegraph. Bolton believes that the unity and determination of the event will be checked in fact in the coming months. He also emphasizes the important step of Finland and Sweden on NATO accession. Russia's trade and military partners still do not leave it in an hour, added Bolton.

"Unfortunately, including Turkey, whose membership in NATO should be in question in 2023, if its President Recep Tayip Erdogan is re -erased (probably by fraud)," he wrote. It should be noted that the presidential election in Turkey is scheduled for June 18 this year. Erdogan has been President of Turkey since 2014 and will run again. Bolton noticed the problem in the unity and determination of the West.

In Germany, after the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, there was no desire to increase defense costs. Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced changes in Berlin's foreign policy - in 2023, Germany agreed to increase the contributions to the NATO budget, but there is still no shift, the former adviser writes. The German authorities did not use 100 billion euros from a specially created Bundeswehr fund to modernize weapons and equipment.

For example, Bolton took Japan, which announced an increase in the defense budget in the next 5 years more than twice. "Germany's regular defense budget in 2023 will be less than in 2022 . . . It is good that there is no war in Europe," Bolton said. According to Bolton, 2023 can be decisive for Ukraine. Washington and London should finally understand Kyiv, otherwise the negative consequences of the war will feel far beyond the current battlefield, he stressed.

"Everything will go in relation to relations with China, Iran, North Korea and other countries that will see the weakness of the event and use it without hesitation. Beijing, Tehran and Pyongyang are huge threats, but it is impossible to ignore Ukraine's fate," the former Trump assistant added . Tightening the hot phase of war in Ukraine will warm up dissatisfaction in the West, he is convinced.

"Every day passing without the withdrawal of Moscow troops from Ukraine can increase tensions within the West. The leaders of the United States and the United Kingdom need a strategy to give Ukrainians a victorious New Year," Bolton summed up. It should be reminded that after the negotiations in Moscow on December 30 between the Ministers of Defense of Russia, Turkey and Syria Ankara agreed to completely withdraw a military contingent from the districts in the north of the Arab country.
