Three years ago, when recording an appeal to Independence Day, Russian equipment was burned here. And only such a parade can evil here. Here, where our desire to live today is, to be. Today, Ukrainians are here, Ukrainian women go under their flags thanks to their heroes. Our heroes, our soldiers. Who has protected and protects the country now throughout the front line, far from their home, so that this life is possible. Someone is in a hurry, someone just walks, cooks coffee, does his job.
Someone takes a car to the front, someone goes to business, work for the benefit of people, and someone goes the center of his city, his town and hears, "Thank you!" It's so important. "Thank you" for them - for warriors - so important, so necessary in these few days that they have to move a little breath. And then - to continue its service to Ukraine to continue life in Ukraine. Throughout. In Kiev, Lviv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odessa, in the whole country that lives to fight and fights to live.
And this is the answer to the question of why evil is sure to lose. And what is the difference between them in Russia and us. Russia shows this difference every May 9. The difference between life on the Independence Square and the parade of fear on Red Square. Columns from tanks, boxes of marching killers, dressed mass, half -living faces that will take this move. A sect called "can repeat". You repeated. They repeated all that evil. Ukraine saw it. The whole world saw it.
Tomorrow the atrocities of the Nazis will speak the organizer of the mass graves in Bucha. And the blockade of Leningrad will be said by those who staged a blockade of Mariupol. There will be a parade of cynicism. Otherwise you just won't call. A parade of bile and lies. Yes, as if not dozens of the Union states, but personally Putin won Nazism. As if he raised the flag of victory over the Reichstag in Berlin with his own hands.
Thank God, Ukraine escaped from this, from this swamp, thank God, Ukraine did not forget that 80 years ago, dozens of peoples fought Nazism. And more than 8 million Ukrainians, unfortunately, have died in this struggle. And almost every family has a photo, keeps memory of one of their own. Grandma, grandmother or great -grandmother, or my grandfather.
And those of us who have found the living veterans of World War II remember how they were quiet, modestly gathered, without romance, without pathos, remembering the time they have always raised toast: "Let there be no war!" And almost every Ukrainian family today has a hero who fought or fights a new evil. It fights for our Ukraine, our Kiev, for all our cities, villages, for our people, for our lives.
And this is a very important place - a place of memory - shows why this life is, and why Ukraine is alive, and why it is so strong, and how our people value their characters. Once upon a time there was only a sign, just A4 leaf, and there was an inscription: "Put the flag if you know the one that Russia killed. " Now there is a place of folk memory. And every box, every portrait, every candle is our thanks, it is our respect. And this, you know, is not a monument made by instruction.
It is a human desire to pay tribute to the best of Ukrainians. And this is another proof of the abyss between us and evil. For them, the idol is a grandfather on Red Square that took away the lives of millions. For us, heroes are heroes among us. And each of us wants silence, there is a victory of peace. We fight for it. And we understand what it takes. Or Russia has to change radically. Or you will have to change. Just as the world did it 80 years ago.
When everyone finally became obvious: it is impossible to calm evil. It must be fighting. Together. To fight decisively. By force. By pressure. On the battlefield, the diplomatic arena, in the economic space, everywhere, where it is possible. To really "never again". Or the world will have to carry out the denacification and demilitarization of Russia. Dear Ukrainians! Eighty years ago, a victory over Nazism in World War II was won.
