VRU urged the world not to recognize the "elections" that the Russian Federation wants to hold in the occupied territories

MPs want international organizations not to recognize the legitimacy of any elected body of the Russian Federation and facilitate the criminal prosecution of persons involved in this. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada) appealed to the world parliaments to recognize illegitimate elections that the Russian Federation plans to hold in the occupied territories of Ukraine. This was reported by MP Alexei Goncharenko.

It is noted that 287 people's deputies voted for the appropriate decision, and another 58 did not vote. "The call to international organizations, governments of the countries of the world does not recognize the legitimacy of any elected body of the Russian Federation, if there are" representatives "from the occupied territories.

Also to prevent the participation of delegations of the authorities of the Russian Federation of all levels in the work of international organizations and their parliamentary structures," - it is said in the message.

According to Goncharenko, the world community should admit that the illegal actions of the Russian Federation reiterate the impossibility of peace talks to full withdrawal , ran, observed, or otherwise participated in an illegal electoral process organized by the Russian occupation authorities, "the People's Deputy added.

Goncharenko emphasized that any Russian elections in the occupied territories of Ukraine are a farce, the world should not recognize representatives from there and isolate the Russian Federation as much as possible. We will remind, the invaders adopted special rules for residents of captured regions of Ukraine. In particular, people were allowed to vote in "elections" according to Ukrainian documents.

The polling stations were formed even in the settlements that were most affected by the consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. We will remind that on August 4 the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov stated that "elections" organized by Russian invaders in temporarily occupied territories (Tot) is another terror. Also, on August 3, the National Resistance Center reported that future elections are planned in the territories that are temporarily occupied.
