Zelensky imposed sanctions against Russian businessman Michael Friedman

The President introduced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council "On the use of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)". President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed sanctions against nine legal entities. Some of them are related to Russian businessman Michael Friedman. About it reports the office of the President of Ukraine. The relevant decree of the President No. 739/2023 appeared on November 7.

It is noted that Zelensky introduced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of November 7, 2023 "On the use of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)". The proposals for the introduction of sanctions were made by the Security Service of Ukraine. Sanctions for these companies, which are generally registered in Cyprus and Luxembourg, have been introduced from 2 to 10 years. Some of them have ties with Russian billionaire Michael Friedman.

Its coreporate rights were arrested in Ukraine on October 6. Friedman became one of the first Russian oligarchs, introduced to the EU sanction list in February 2022 due to close ties with Putin's administration and the accumulation of wealth through close relations with the Russian government. Friedman tries to challenge sanctions. In Ukraine, its assets are Kyivstar, Meaning Bank (formerly Alfa-Bank) and Morshynska.
