The unit was created on June 1, 2022 on the basis of a battalion, based on veterans of army special forces, volunteer units and law enforcement agencies. At first it were veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which defended the Kiev and Kiev region. In 2022, a separate special purpose battalion "Wild Field" participated in successful operations in Kherson region. Also in the fall, the soldiers liberated Slobozhanshchina from the Russian invaders.
The name was named, because the wild field was considered the birthplace of the Cossacks, so called the Black Sea and the Azov Ukrainian steppes in the Middle Ages. The vast majority of battalion servicemen were born and grew up in the medieval wild field. We will remind, on July 17 in the Bakhmut region of defense forces used Dron-Kamikadze and destroyed the T-90m "Sliding". Severe armored vehicles were eliminated south of the mite, where fierce battles continue near the settlement.
