Share: A fire broke out at a gas processing plant in Orenburg, Russia. Eyewitnesses noticed smoke rising from the side of the enterprise. According to local Telegram channels, subscribers reported a column of smoke in the vicinity of the plant, but no official confirmation of the scale and cause of the fire has yet been received.

In response to reports from eyewitnesses, emergency response services sent a combat team to the scene of the incident to check the situation and clarify the location of the fire. According to preliminary information, there is currently no threat from an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles. Information about the scale of the fire, victims and possible causes of the fire is currently being clarified. Local residents continue to share footage from the scene.

It is worth noting that the governor of the Orenburg region did not comment on the fire at the moment. According to open sources, the Orenburg gas processing plant is one of the largest enterprises in the Russian gas industry. It was created on the basis of the Orenburg gas condensate field and is located in the village of Kholodny Klyuchi near Orenburg. In general, the plant is engaged in the purification, preparation and processing of natural gas, as well as the production of helium.

The capacity of the enterprise is about 37. 5 billion cubic meters of gas per year, and the main raw material comes from the Orenburg field. In addition, the plant receives gas from Kazakhstan's Karachaganak field as part of the KazRosGaz international project. The complex includes facilities for the production of commercial gas, sulfur and condensate stabilization, and is also connected to a helium plant.

The company manufactures a wide range of products: natural gas, gas condensate, propane, butane, various gas mixtures, pure sulfur and industrial gases. Moreover, the plant is an important part of the region's energy system and provides jobs for several thousand people. It will be recalled that on the night of October 19, explosions occurred in several regions of Russia, and a number of airports were closed due to drone attacks.
