Russia loses information war: confrontation with fakes and manipulations gaining momentum

This opinion was expressed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparov on the online presentation of the "Green Book of Combating Misinformation" in early December, writes Gazeta. ua. The meeting discussed directly the White Book and the Green Book, which are true political documents to combat propaganda in Ukraine.

According to Dzhaparov, Russia's efforts in trying to frighten Ukrainians are hardly working, and the international community is less and less on manipulation. Rhetoric in the world is changing rapidly. So, indeed, the fight on the information front has more and more positive results. However, attention should be paid to strange moments.

For example, how late law enforcement agencies and state institutions were interested in the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. Considering how open and promotes the ideas of the enemy, it becomes unclear why it is impossible to make its work impossible after 9 months of a full -scale war. However, of course, the restriction of the activities of such institutions is a positive sign, and the struggle will continue to spread, including internationally.

The roundtable participants at online presentation discussed that countries such as Poland and Ukraine need to make joint efforts to end the influence of Russian narratives on the Western countries. On the other hand, the term "misinformation" has not even been introduced in Ukraine. The point actions of the authorities, as a limitation of media, Russian activity, prohibition of entry of unwanted persons to the country, are not effective enough.

In addition, according to the author of publications, Doctor of Political Science, Lawyer and Analytics Sergiy Balan, state institutions and public organizations more and more need to be united, not "dragging a blanket". The qualitative level of counteraction to misinformation thus can not come. Journalists have also to take care of their information policy. They often bend the stick in the topic of war, and this does not have a positive effect on Ukraine.

"As for me, it is not quite correct to submit information about the course of fighting events. Journalists form an overestimated expectations of war in the population instead of giving news to a balanced and realistically. Because soldiers are ordinary people, not some cyborgs, they cannot Attach the enemy 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, " - said Associate Professor of Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Stepanyshyn.

Another tool for fighting in the information war should not be thrown out of view. It is about the work of ethnic groups living in the territory of Ukraine. With them, the federation can also be weakened in some way. Finally, it is necessary to combine efforts to those who now almost openly confront the championship in the fight against fakes and manipulations. A striking example is the NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov and Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.
