Crisis as a point of growth. How does the energy market work during the war

Now colleagues from the Ukrainian office are working around the world: from Finland and Poland to Canada and Australia. Our employees from Ukraine received financial support from the company, and also temporary housing. In addition to the initial donation of 1 million euros, we launched an internal crowdfunding campaign that gives all Schneider Electric employees to support their Ukrainian colleagues and their families with an unlimited amount.

Despite the difficulties in business processes, it was possible to save all payments to employees and to make a timely annual wage review. Does your company help Ukrainians who have been injured in the war? The Schneider Electric International Corporation has also organized a charity initiative to support Ukrainian citizens. As part of this initiative, Schneider Electric was handed over electrical equipment worth 4 million euros to restore energy supply and return light to homes of more than 1.

5 million Ukrainians in 1,300 cities left without light. The donation was made within the framework of the initiative that was agreed during the World Economic Forum. What is the equipment and who got it? These are autonomous lighting and power supply - they have received territorial communities where it is impossible to restore light through combat.

We also provided equipment for the restoration of main networks and electrical substations of energy supply throughout Ukraine, which have been damaged as a result of hostilities. As of now, Schneider Electric has already handed over two batch of electrical equipment to DTEK workers and power grids. The first batch of equipment was used in cities such as Irpin, Bucha, Borodyanka in the Kyiv region, as well as in Pavlograd in Dnipropetrovsk.

The second batch of equipment is already in the east and south of Ukraine. It was already transferred to the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration and distributed in the region. Lighting also received the territorial communities of settlements of Dnipropetrovsk region, such as Pavlograd, Ternovka, Petropavlivka and many others. In the near future, the third batch of supply of equipment in the most affected by the settlements of Ukraine.

The Government of Ukraine has repeatedly emphasized that we are waiting for a difficult heating season. How to prepare for him? In Ukraine, there is now an excess of electricity. We can switch to electricity and avoid gas crisis. However, this should be done wisely, following the principles of energy savings. Modern intellectual solutions, such as Powertag, Wiser, will come in handy - these devices are installed in a socket or a shield.

What are you in person when working in crisis? In a stormy sea, everyone needs to row into a beat. This is the main idea that helped us to stand in the crisis in Ukraine. That is why the most important thing for any top manager is to create a cohesive team. And also qualitatively solve the local Market Needs.

People are the invaluable cost of each company. By the cohesive team, I mean both employees of the company and its customers, partners. It is necessary to achieve synergy in actions and thoughts - both performers and customers. Without this, it is impossible to work in heavy B2B markets where inflation is high and the risks of losing partners and customers are high. However, a motivated team can overcome any crisis.

What experience are you ready to share with European partners while in a new position? Our European partners need crisis management - quality and reliable. Europe is a recession, as evaluated by experts. And autumn will be difficult for some European countries. For example, in the Czech Republic inflation has increased more than 15% - an unprecedented situation for the country.

European specialists are accustomed to working in more stable conditions, so they can not always respond effectively and quickly to the crisis. Ukrainian managers create their own market on their own - and they succeed, even in an unstable economy. We are able to develop business, even if the financial and investment situation on the market changes every day.

What are the most important professional tasks you set for yourself in the near future? I hope that thanks to close cooperation with European partners, we will be able to attract even greater support for the Western community in Ukraine. And this will help us to rebuild the Motherland faster. We already have all the levers to build a bright future of Ukraine. In crisis, you can, and you even need to develop and reach new peaks. After all, every crisis is a point of growth.
