75 km from the border: the Russian Federation builds a new airfield in Belgorod region (photo)

The occupiers have been building a new runway near the village of Alekseevka for almost a year. The settlement itself is already a hub for the West of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces. Russia began to build a new airfield in the area of ​​the village of Alekseevka in the Belgorod region. About it reports the OSINT researcher Redintelpanda in X (earlier Twitter). As early as July 2023, the road was laid to the place of future construction of the aerodrome.

The following months before the beginning of winter, the grading of the future runway was actually completed. The construction site is coordinated 50. 6612, 38. 5694. After winter, construction continued in the Russian Federation. As of April 27, the base layer or its own paving on the runway continues. The works started around the beginning of April. The length of the strip is approximately 1800 meters installed by the researcher through Sentinel Hub. This is enough for different types of aircraft.

Alekseevka is located within the forbidden flight zone for civilian aircraft, which was created by invasion of Ukraine. Therefore, it is obvious that the airfield is being built for military purposes, in addition, the Osint-ER did not find evidence in the Russian media about the construction of a civilian airport. The Russian Federation can use an airfield for helicopters, because on the advanced base in the Rovenky Belgorod region the number of rhrails has reduced.

Assuming that they returned to the base in Buturlinovka in the Voronezh region, their path to the front will be longer. Alekseevka is about 25 km away from the front than the airfield in Rovenki. The length of the aerodrome will be enough to accept the aircraft type An-26, AN-72 or even the Su-25 storm. With regard to logistics, the occupiers are already used by Alekseevka as a hub for storage and transportation of fuel. In addition, they have a railway branch that can provide an airfield.
