The man had only a pension and one backpack. In the territory controlled by Ukraine, he was met by volunteers. The 88-year-old grandfather left a partially occupied village of Ocheretyne in Donetsk region, so as not to receive the Russian passport. This was announced on April 24 by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration (OVA) Vadim Filashkin. 88-year-old Ukrainian name Ivan Yakovlevich. In the territory controlled by Ukraine, he was met by volunteers and taken to a safe place.
