For the first time in three decades: Estonia convened the UN Radbez because of Russian provocation

To extend: On Monday, September 22, the United Nations Security Council will take place at an extraordinary meeting, which will be dedicated to the violation of Estonia's airspace by Russia. This will be the first case for 34 years of Estonia membership at the UN when the country has invited an extraordinary council meeting, ERR reports.

Estonian Tsakhkn's Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkn stressed that the arrogant violation of the airspace of the neighboring country is undermines of principles that are important for the safety of all UN members. "Therefore, it is important that a permanent member of the UN Security Council discuss such violations in the same body," the head of the Foreign Ministry said.

He believes that the invasion of military equipment into the country's airspace is a test of the determination of Europe and NATO member states. In addition, the violation of the airspace of Estonia was preceded by the appearance of 19 Russian drones in the sky of Poland and the finding of shock UAVs in Romania's airspace.

"All these cases are part of a broader scheme by which Russia escalates regional and global tension, and such actions of Russia need an international reaction," the Foreign Minister of Estonia emphasized. He stated that the behavior of the Russian Federation would be unacceptable to any other UN member state and did not meet the obligations that a permanent member of the Security Council assumed.

On September 19, three Russian MiG-31 fighters capable of carrying aerobalist missiles X-47M2 "dagger", entered the airspace of Estonia over the Gulf of Finnish, which was about 12 minutes. Sweden's armed forces have released photos of Russian MiG-31 aircraft that violated Estonia's airspace. The frames were made from Jas 39 Gripen aircraft while intercepting Russian fighters over the Baltic Sea.

Following the incident in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, they stated that on September 19, three Russian MiG-31 fighters "made a planned flight" from Karelia to an airfield to the Kaliningrad region. At the same time, they stated in the department, during the flight the airspace of other states was "not broken.

" After that, the Armed Forces of Estonia showed the trajectory of the flight of Russian fighter jets, noting that this case of a violation of the Baltic airspace has become the fourth this year. The Lithuanian Defense Minister Rady Shakaley reminded how Turkey has knocked the Russian Su-24-24 territory and called on NATO countries an example from Ankara.
