"Neutral athletes": IWF will allow Russians and Belarus to competition

The International Federation of weightlifting stated that, as before, joint and several. At the same time, the organization believes that nationality should influence the opportunity to play sports. The International Athletics Federation (IWF) has decided to allow citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus to competitions in neutral status. This is stated on the official website of the organization.

IWF presents that the decision to admit Russians and Belarusians to the competition is based on the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee, which is advised. The IOC believes that athletes with a Russian or Belarusian passport should adhere to strict neutrality during international competitions.

IWF stated that such a solution is the "best possible balance" between the organization of organization with Ukraine and the ability to play sports for "neutral athletes" of any nationality. "From the very beginning of this deep crisis, which has seriously affected international sports, IWF has steadily adhered to the recommendations issued by the International Olympic Committee," the organization was entered into.

It should be reminded that on April 5, fighters from Russia and Belarus were allowed to participate in international tournaments for compliance with the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee. Russian fighters in the age category of 15-17 years were allowed to speak without checking on communication with military organizations.
