Despite the requirements of Trump: Hungary refused to stop the purchase of oil and gas in the Russian Federation

To spread: Hungary is not going to give up importing Russian energy, despite the call of US President Donald Trump. Hungary's safe energy supply is impossible without the supply of Russian oil and gas. This was stated by the Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto in an interview with The Guardian. Siyarto stressed that he understands Washington's position, but for Budapest, the issue of energy resources is not a policy, but a physical need.

"You can dream of buying oil and gas somewhere except Russia, but we have only the infrastructure that exists now. And if you look at it, it becomes obvious: without Russian deliveries, we will not be able to guarantee the country's energy safety," the minister said. Earlier, Trump stated that he was ready to impose new sanctions against Moscow, but NATO allies should demonstrate the willingness to abandon Russian oil and gas. According to him, it is Europe that should take the first step.
