Thank you very much, dear Prime Minister, dear Dick, I sincerely thank you! Also...

This war and Russia's responsibility for it should become a clear example so that others understand that aggression should not be chosen - the President's speech at the diplomatic conference

Thank you very much, dear Prime Minister, dear Dick, I sincerely thank you! Also dear President Sandu, Maye! Dear General Secretary Berse! Thank you very much for the invitation. Thank you for everything, for your support! Dear friends, ministers! First of all, I want to say thank you - to your countries, your leaders, just your people. It is very important that all these years of war your peoples support us.

Thank you very much to your people for all this support - support for us, Ukraine, people, and our children, and our right to self-defense - in every sense of the word. Not only the right to physical protection as an independent state against external aggression, but also the right to life - the right to a normal life in safety, which everyone in Europe and in any other part of the world deserves.

Today - and this year - things are being created for Ukraine that should have started a long time ago, at least as early as 2014. But really, given how many wars Russia has started or supported, it should have happened even sooner. Europe has a very, very long history of war and cannot afford to take it lightly. All pressure on Russia must remain in force as long as the occupation of our land continues.

Russia must feel that it is a criminal and bear responsibility for this, as long as our people remain in Russian captivity and until the Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia do not return home. Sanctions should limit Russia until it begins to respect the peaceful life and rights of its neighbors. And, of course, of course, every Russian war crime must have consequences for those who committed it.

We hope that the tribunal on Russian aggression will really begin its work - not only for us, but for all those who seek peace in Europe. We expect that all compensation mechanisms - from the Loss Register and the Compensation Commission to the actual payments - will come into operation and receive strong and sufficient international support so that people can truly feel that any damage caused by the war can be compensated.
