Putin canceled the Georgian visas and allowed direct airline from Tbilisi (documents)

Georgia citizens can now enter the Russian Federation without a visa for up to 90 days. Russian President Vladimir Putin with his decree canceled a visa regime for Georgia citizens. It will stop operating on May 15, 2023. The decree was published on the official portal of legal information. Since mid -May, Georgia citizens will have enough passport for 90 days.

"To establish that since May 15, 2023, Georgia citizens entry into the Russian Federation and leave the Russian Federation without registration of visas on the basis of valid documents certifying their identity," the document reads. In addition, Putin canceled the ban on flights from Russia to Georgia.

It should be reminded that the direct airline between Russia and Georgia was interrupted in 2019 after the scandal, called "Gavrilov Night" and the beginning of protests against rapprochement with Russia in Tbilisi. By the way, since the beginning of 2022, Russian citizens bought more than 8 thousand apartments in Georgia, ie almost 40% of apartments sold to foreigners. It is worth noting that Georgia has become one of the most popular areas among Russians after the start of "special operation".

The announcement of partial mobilization in the Russian Federation resulted in the queue at the only checkpoint between the two Upper Lars countries. On March 13, a group of Russians in Georgia made a video stating that they were oppressed and asked the Russian Federation to introduce troops. Citizens shared their fears about the Georgian Maidan.
