According to the Russian media, the Taganrog air base is the headquarters of the scientific and technical complex, where A-50 planes are produced. Probably, A-50 was sent to Taganrog for repair after receiving damage at the air base. The place of falling of the rocket in Taganrog is located five kilometers from the Taganrog air base, which is located Russian military aviation. On July 28, the Russian Telegram-Channel "Important History" reports.

Thus, the aircraft had previously been observed on the air base of the long-standing radar detection of the A-50, as well as TU-95 bombers. In addition, there is a UAV platform on the object. It is reported that the Taganrog air base is the headquarters of the scientific and technical complex, which is named Beriyev and is engaged in the production of A-50 aircraft. Most likely, the A-50 aircraft was sent to Taganrog for repair after getting damaged at the Belarusian air base in the Magules.

In addition, according to the Russian Telegram-channel Astra, only two kilometers from the place of the explosion is the Taganrog Sea Trade Port. "Its main cargoes are metal and coal. The port serves the vessels that go to the Azov, Black and Mediterranean seas," the message reads. On July 28, there was an explosion in Taganrog, located in the Rostov region.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly used re-equipped missiles for the C-200 anti-aircraft complex and released them in the cities of Taganrog and Azov. Both rockets, according to them, were knocked down by Russian air defense. Earlier, 15 injured as a result of a rocket explosion in Taganrog was reported, as well as damage to urban buildings.
