"Leave everything as it is": Trump told whether he really encouraged Zelensky to give Donbas to Russia (video)

Share: US President Donald Trump denies media reports that he allegedly encouraged Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyi to hand over the entire Donbas to Russian control. At the same time, he told what, according to the American side, Russia and Ukraine should do now. Donald Trump said that he allegedly "never discussed" with Volodymyr Zelensky the issue of handing over control of Donbas to the Russians.

The American leader said this during a conversation with journalists on October 20, reports Rapid Response 47. "No, we never discussed it. We believe that they (Russians and Ukrainians — ed. ) just need to stop at the line where they are, on the front line," the US president emphasized. According to Donald Trump, such questions are "difficult to agree on" because there are many different options. Because of this, he calls for the parties to stop "just now" on the current front line.

"That's why I say that they should stop right now on the front lines, go home, stop killing people and be done with it," the American leader repeated his call. Journalists also asked Donald Trump his opinion on how the issue of Ukrainian Donbas should be handled on the way to resolving the war. He explained that he considers it necessary to leave "everything as it is". "Let it remain as it is. Now it is already divided. I think that Russia already controls 78% of the territory (Donbas - ed. ).

Leave everything as it is now. They can agree on something later," said the US president. It is worth noting that on October 19, the FT reported that Donald Trump, at a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyi, urged him to agree to Vladimir Putin's terms, as he could "destroy" Ukraine.
