The Armed Forces will be able to send to other states to protect sovereignty: the President has signed the bill

To extend: the appropriate decision to send units will be made by the President. The head of state will submit to the Parliament together with information about the tasks, numbers, weapons and terms of stay of units. From now on, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can be redirected to other states to ensure measures related to national security and defense. The corresponding bill No. 4255-IX was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

"During the period of martial law, the military units and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Procedure Legislation of Ukraine may be sent to other states and stay in the territory of these states for the implementation of measures related to national security and defense, repeling and restraining armed aggression against Ukraine, protection of its sovereignty and territorial. It is in the document.

It is noted that during the period of martial law the decision to send the units of the Armed Forces to other states is made by the Head of State, while submitting to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a bill on approval of such decision.

Together with the bill, the President provides information on the tasks, the total number of these units, the types and composition of their weapons and military equipment, subordination, terms of stay and the procedure for their possible continuation, the procedure for replacing the personnel of the units and the procedure for their maintenance. It is worth noting that the bill was proposed for consideration in parliament on January 7, 2025.

A week later, on January 15, the law was approved in parliament and sent to Vladimir Zelensky. The President submitted his proposals to the bill, after which he was re -adopted. It should be reminded that on March 16, the head of state appointed a new head of the General Head of the Armed Forces. The previous chief General Bargilevich will pass to the post of the General Inspector of the Ministry of Defense.
