Israel wants to use Starlink as an example of Ukraine: military is needed "spare" Internet

Israel with satellite Internet is going to provide continuous access to the network in frontline cities in case of failure of local providers. The Ministry of Communications of Urille is negotiating with Starlink Ilon Mask on the provision of satellite complexes for wireless Internet in frontline cities. About it reports Bloomberg.

Israel states that Satellite Internet Starlink is urgently needed by the fighters of the tank to maintain communication in wartime and on the eve of the expected land invasion into the Gaza Sector. In his statement, the Ministry of Communications of Urail states that with the help of Satellite Internet Starlink intends to provide continuous access to the network in frontline cities.

The ministry's representative added that this will be the first time when Israel will rely on Starlink, which will be a reserve replacement of Israeli providers in the event of a break in their work. The company Ilona Maska has not yet given Bloomberg journalists no comments, and Ilon Musk himself is silent on his social network X, where he often comments on different events.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Ministry stated that it also considers the possibility of switching off the Internet and telephone services that it provides gas. Representatives of the department confirmed that the closure of the Israeli Office of the Qatar State News Network "Al-Jazira", which, according to the Israeli side, is used for propaganda in the interests of Hamas, incitement and damage to the country's national security during the war.

It is known that Satellite Internet Starlink has been actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2022. However, periodically with satellite communication there were problems, not technical, but geopolitical. There is information that Ilon Musk has turned off Starlink several times in the war zone, fearing "escalation of hostilities and the Third World War". It was also reported that the shutdown of the satellite Internet prevented the Ukrainian military attack on the Crimean bridge.

Ilon Musk stated that the Starlink network could not work in Crimea through anti -Russian sanctions, and the company did not receive appropriate instructions from US President Joe Biden. But after all the scandals of the Pentagon convinced the scandalous billionaire to control the US military segment of satellites, which cover the territory of the Armed Forces, and more problems with the shutdown of Starlink in the Armed Forces did not arise.
